We have a big weekend for Arlington!

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

Saturday, November 2, 2019 – We have a Club Fundraiser Frame Build benefitting our Juniors Program from 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at our club shed on the Barnes Multipurpose Range. No tools or experience is required. We have everything needed to build frames. They are built on an assembly line basis, where each person performs one or two simple tasks. Everyone has a lot of fun and goes home with a good feeling for supporting our Juniors Program.

Sunday, November 3, 2019, we will be having a Bust Fest on Trap 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This is a very popular event. It is a lot of fun. You can bring a box of clays or pay $15 to shoot all day. If you have never shot trap before, this is a good way to learn how. Target loads of 1200 Feet Per Second (FPS) or less and #7.5, #8 or #9 shot. **DON’T FORGET DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME STARTS AT 2:00 A.M. ON NOVEMBER 3. TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK AN HOUR.

Friday, November 1, from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. I will be cutting wood for the frame build at our club shed. If you are able to come out and lend a hand, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Happy Halloween!

Thank you,

TNS cancelled today 22 Oct

Members,

Due to the weather and the bays being freshly seeded and wet, we are cancelling TNS tonight. This was supposed to be our last TNS of the year. We had a great TNS season and acquired some new faces participating at the range. It has been a pleasure to shoot with all of you.

Thanks for a great year!

Last TNS for 2019

Members,

We will be conducting our last Tuesday Night Steel for the 2019 calendar year on 22 October weather pending. We should get about an hour or so of sunlight after setup to shoot. We will restart TNS in April 2020. We will still conduct our 4th Saturday of every month event on the bays. October’s 4th Saturday is the Advanced Rifle Pistol course for registered participants only. November should be a 2 Gun action event.

Weekend Report

Thank you to everyone today who volunteered. ARPC put on two great events today, and it wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s help.

Women on Target was a great success with seven wonderful participants who had a great afternoon learning to shoot pistols. Our members brought out a great selection of affordable, unique, and exotic firearms for these ladies to try. Thank you to all the participants and our volunteers including Wendy and Scott who helped organize & run the event.

The CMP Target Sprint Exhibition was also a great event. Combining running and air rifle into a a unique challenge. The event allowed participants to get instruction and try out this new and exciting sport. ARPC was very happy to host this event and we will have several a year. This a great fun for all ages! Thank you to everyone including Coach Chris and our President Rob for your hard work to setup the course, organzine, and run the event.

I would also like to announce we will be hosting 3 low light/night shoots in the next two months.

10/22/19 – (100y range) – from 7PM-9PM
11/12/19 – Bay 6- from 7PM-9PM
11/26/19 – Bay 6- from 7PM-9PM

Our low light shoots are open to badged AGC members only, and will allow our shooters to test out their lights/lasers/and NVG’s if you have them.

All pistols must be equipped with adequate sights for night fire. AGC caliber restrictions apply for steel shoots. If you have any questions please contact:

“arlingtonrpc.vicepresident@gmail.com”

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you at our next event!

Reminder: AGC Range Day is tomorrow from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 Please come out and give us a hand

Sunday, October 13, the AGC Range Day is from 8:00 a.m. – noon. Arlington has always been a big supporter of the AGC Range Day. We help spruce up the range and help work several important projects at the AGC ranges. Arlington will be helping to shovel the dirt away from the railroad ties on the Barnes 100 yard range that has washed down from the berm. Please bring a shovel and wear boots or old shoes. Please sign in at Memorial Hall before going down to the Barns Range to register for range badge credit.

You can earn a range badge credit for each hour you volunteer at the AGC. If you volunteer 40 hours, you can earn a free range badge. Please register for the range badge credit, even if you don’t intend to use your range badge credit hours. We ask club members to please donate their volunteer hours that you don’t want to use to the club. We use these hours to help club members.

I’ll see you tomorrow!
