ARPC Juniors Giving Tuesday Reminder

As you know our Junior’s shooting team, Arlington Rifle & Pistol Club Juniors Shooting Team, ID # R5634 has a team endowment with the MidwayUSA Foundation, a public charity that helps fund youth shooting teams. This endowment helps offset many costs that are associated with a shooting team.

We are asking you and other community members to donate to that endowment on Giving Tuesday, which will be matched!* Every donation helps ensures the future of our shooting team because our endowment will be there forever! Each year, our team is eligible for a cash grant from the endowment to pay for ammunition, travel, uniforms, targets, entry fees and more. Here are a few more reasons we think it’s a great and local cause to support on Giving Tuesday.

  • – Your tax-deductible donation benefits OUR Arlington youth shooting team.
  • – 100% benefits OUR team; the MidwayUSA Foundation keeps nothing for its operations.
  • – A Match! Your contribution will be matched, thanks to the MidwayUSA Foundation’s Matching

Program, which is funded by Larry and Brenda Potterfield!

  • – A tax deduction. You will receive a gift receipt from the Foundation for your tax records.
  • – Safe, secure, easy to give online from anywhere to OUR team.

We appreciate any contribution you can make and you can do so online, through the MidwayUSA Foundation website or this link “https://www.midwayusafoundation.org/team-profile/?id=R5634” will take you right to our team page where you can click ‘Donate Now.’ Thank you for supporting our team!

Happy Thanksgiving to our Arlington family,

May you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for your friendship and support to our club!

Rob

Reminder: The November Club meeting will be held Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

We have our monthly meeting this Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall. We will review current and upcoming events for the club and the AGC. We will welcome new members and guests. Please bring in any new acquisitions or interesting items for our show and tell. As always we will have a swap meet at the back of the room for items you may wish to sell, trade or give away.

I am very thankful to all of our club members. You are some of the finest people I have ever known. The volunteering you have done over the past year for our club, our Juniors program, the AGC, Women On Target and the community at large has demonstrated who we are as a club.

**Arlington has traditionally made food donations to the local food bank during the Thanksgiving Season. If you are able, please bring some canned goods to our club meeting.

We have invited the AGC to have range badge renewal and to issue new badges for 2019 at our club meeting on Wednesday, November 14th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Arlington club members do most of the volunteering work at the AGC. Many of our club members don’t bother registering their volunteer hours for range badge credit. Please start registering your volunteer hours with the AGC! Arlington club members can donate range badge credits to the club, which in turn will be donated to help club members who need financial assistance. Thank you for all you are doing to help our club and the AGC. Please let me know if you have donated your volunteer hours to the AGC.

Renewing members must provide: a Drivers License, 2019 Arlington Club Membership Card and an AGC Photo Badge. Credit/Debit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards are accepted). You can renew your club membership at the meeting with Bob. Arlington dues are $40 for 2019. You can pay your dues with cash, check or credit card.

New badge holders must provide: a Drivers License, 2019 Club Membership Card and a Completed Range Safety Affidavit. Bob will be renewing club memberships at the meeting and at any club event. You can use credit cards to renew your club membership.

The cost of the 2019 range badge:

– Full Year Individual: $190

– Full Year AGC Family $63.00 *(This is the badge for Juniors to get if they want to obtain a range badge). A range badge is not necessary for a Junior if they are shooting at a Juniors practice or if they are supervised by their AGC badge holding parent. It is very helpful for a Junior to have if a parent intends to come to the range when the Juniors are not practicing. Please talk to Coach Chris to determine if it is appropriate for your Junior to obtain a range badge. This is also a reduced cost range badge for family members of a current AGC range badge holder.

– Full year Junior $95 (This does not apply to Arlington Juniors. Arlington requires a parent to have a range badge, so Juniors can get a family range badge).

– 15 year Range Badge $1,750. This is a discounted range badge over the span of 15 years. The proceeds from the sale of this range badge goes towards the building of the action shooting range.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and friends!

Thank you,

Rob

Club members with pickup trucks are needed for this weekend!!!

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

Howard County Executive, Allan Kittleman has agreed to donate his used political signs to our Juniors. There are a lot of them and we desperately need them for our Juniors fundraiser program. I need help this weekend to pick them up from the Kittleman’s farm in Howard County. It isn’t too far from the AGC range. We need a lot of helping hands and people with pickups to help move the backboards. We have a frame build scheduled for Saturday morning at our club shed. If anyone can help me get them around noon on Saturday or on Monday, Veterans Day, I would be very grateful! We don’t want to loose out on this opportunity.

Thank you,

Rob

Berm Update

Members,

Situation: Two of the Hesco barrier walls are built so far. The AGC is renting a four wheel bucket loader for the month. We are trying to capitalize on the rental time to keep costs down. It is cheaper to keep the loader for a month than rent by the week. For those that have been out there filling barriers, you can attest to how much more efficient the large loader performed.

The AGC (Lee and James) is working to get lane 4 cut and leveled with the dozer this week, drain pipes installed and pallets of barriers placed for a possible work day this Saturday. We are also working to get more dirt. If the stars align, I should be able to send out a notification on Thursday for a Saturday berm work day.

With so many points of failure to plan for such an event, I would like to say thanks for your patience in the last minute notifications and to those that can and have participated. You have been a part of the largest volunteer workforce project in cost, size and scope at the AGC.

Arlington events for this weekend

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

Saturday, November 10th, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:45. We will be having a fundraiser frame build benefitting our Juniors Program on Saturday at our club shed, located on the far end of the Barnes Range. No tools or woodworking skills are required. We build our frames on an assembly line basis where each person performs one or two simple tasks. Please come out and help us with this important fundraiser. Its a lot of fun and everyone leaves with a good feeling for having supported our Juniors.

Sunday, November 11th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on the 200 yard range. We are having a 200 yard steel plate rifle shoot. This is a very popular shoot. We have canceled the shoot on the 10th and moved it to the 11th.

Have a great week!
Thank you,

Rob

Reminder: Daylight Savings Time: Set your clocks and watches back an hour.
