Senate Hearing and House Gun Bill Hearings.

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

Attached below is a link to a listing of pending gun legislation that is being proposed for the State of Maryland. Unfortunately, every year many of our legislative representatives try to further restrict our 2nd amendment rights. Please make your voice heard. You can email one of the committees or the entire House and Senate with one click. There is a link to email them on the AGC home page under "legislative". You can call or visit your representative to inform them of your viewpoint. Please be polite and brief. You can also come to the Senate and House Hearings for these bills. The listing below lets you know what committees and when the hearings are going to be held. I recommend getting there around 11:00 a.m. if you wish to sign up to testify. The hearings generally start at 1:00 p.m. They are quite educational. If you wish too testify, you get about two minutes or you can just go and say if you support or are opposed to a given bill.

I generally park at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium and take the shuttle to the House or Senate Buildings. It used to cost $5 to park and the shuttle costs $2 each way. Bring exact change for the shuttle.

Tomorrow is the Senate Judicial Committee Hearing where they will be discussing Senate Bill 1062, which would outlaw possession of magazines greater than 10 rounds. Please go to the AGC Legislative pull down menu and click on email your legislator. You will be able to email all of the house, senate or committees with a click. Please email them. It takes about 30 seconds to write a brief email about a bill you support or oppose.

Participating in the process is our civic duty. If we don’t let our legislators know what our positions are about these bills, we will end up living with the consequences when they pass.

Thank you,

Rob

    Thanks, -Matt.

Thanks Peter! I appreciate everyone who emailed, called and visited their representatives. A big thanks for Kyle and Carl for coming out to testify. It is a real education and gives you a great feeling to participate in the process.

Once again, Arlington had more AGC people there than any other club! You are all the best!

Please keep up the emails. There are two more Senate and one House Hearing coming up.

    Thank you,

    Rob

  3. Peter,

I will check further, but the Senate Judicial Committee has 1:00 p.m. as the time of the hearing on their website. I like to get there early to swing by and meet with my representatives or chat with others who are there to testify.

I have pasted today’s Senate Hearing information below, which was taken from their website. Don’t forget, if you wish to testify to sign in before 12:00 p.m.

    Thanks,

    Rob
