Junior Fundraiser Ticket Sales

Greetings Arlington RPC Members,

We have 11 days left in our 1st Junior Team Fundraiser. Ticket sales have been good but we are a little short of our goal. We need to sell just 30 more tickets to reach the 2 for 1 match from Midway USA Foundation! When we sell just 30 more tickets we will have raised over $4000.00 for our Juniors Program and Midway USA will 2X match this for a total of $12,000.00 in our account. Every $20.00 ticket raises $60.00 for the Juniors!

We have about 185 members in ARPC this year and the members that regularly attend our events have really stepped up and bought tickets. So far we have only sold tickets in person at events and club meetings.

With just 11 day to go before the drawing we are making it possible to purchase your raffle ticket by sending an email to arlingtonrpc.treasurer Just include your email address and name and the number of tickets you would like.

You will receive an invoice by email the next day and you can quickly and securely pay the invoice with your credit card. Your ticket will be filled out for you and included in the drawing on August 9th.

Take advantage of this opportunity to get your tickets now.

First Prize: SKB 90TSS O/U Shotgun valued at $1800.00 w/case and chokes.
Second Prize: $300.00 cash
3rd-12th Prizes: Browning 2 Knife set in collector tin. Value $60.00

Best of luck in the drawing

Frame Build Saturday

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

We will be having a fundraiser frame build this Saturday at the AGC maintenance building from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. No special skills or tools are required. We will be building the frames on an assembly line basis. Please come out to help our Juniors Rifle Team.

Thank you,

Rob

Last weekend’s events

Members,

We had two great events this past weekend. Our 100 yd steel shoot on the Barnes went well Saturday. It is always a favorite for folks that want to sling some lead at steel. Lots of different firearms to see. It was a hot day but we had a decent showing considering the high temperature and humidity.

Our 3 Gun on Sunday went well with about 20 folks attending. Another scorcher of a hot day. Despite the heat, everyone pitched in on the setup, breakdown and range duties to avoid heat casualites. We had some good stage times with some competetive shooters. A fair amount of new members and guests participated as well.

Thanks to all that braved the heat and helped to make these events happen. Without our selfless volunteers, none of this would be possible. Have a great week!

Reminder: We have a 100 yard Steel Plate Shoot this Saturday and a 3-Gun Shoot Sunday!

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

I hope you have a lot of ammo put away, because you will need it this weekend.

Saturday, July 22nd, we will be having a 100 yard Steel Plate Rifle Shoot from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on the Barnes Range. Non magnum calibers up to 30-06 are allowed to be shot at our steel, which will be placed at 100 yards. No green tip or armor penetrator rounds are allowed. Our steel is expensive. If you aren’t sure about your ammo, please ask if you can use it first.

Sunday, Arlington will be supporting Greenbelt in a 3-Gun Shoot from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on the 200 yard range. Please see the email listed below for the course of fire and ammo requirements. Arlington and Greenbelt always work together. Please come out by 8:15 a.m. to help set up for the shoot.

  • Course of fire and Ammo Requirements from Greenbelt:

The event will take place on the AGC 200-yard range and is open to all current AGC range badge holders.

The final course of fire has not been set, however it will emphasize shooting while moving during the shotgun and pistol sections. The shooters will have the opportunity to choose from stable stationary positions vs. offhand positions in the rifle section with the tradeoff being a potentially quicker but less certain time.

The course of fire will not limit the amount of ammunition that can be carried.

There will be 4 to 6 rifle targets, 4 to 6 shotgun targets and 8 to 10 pistol targets.

Participants will be able to go through the course multiple times.

.223 only for rifle, shotgun target loads only, same loads as the trap range, no magnum pistols.

No steel, penetrator, or incendiary ammunition.

Remember to bring water with you to stay hydrated.

For those who can come out early and lend a hand with setup or stay and help with take down and cleanup afterwards, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend!

Rob

Our frame build is cancelled, but we are invited to participate in a .22 LR small bore shoot

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

The AGC has 60 frames in their inventory, so we will be canceling this weekends frame build.

Greenbelt has kindly invited Arlington to participate in its smallbore shoot tomorrow at the Barnes Range from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Come out and join in the fun. If you can come out early around 8:00 a.m., they can use help setting up targets. Bring something to drink! It’s going to be hot.

FYI. The Barnes Range House and Memorial Hall now have reverse osmosis filtered water faucets mounted on the sinks. These faucets are smaller, but deliver the same quality of filtered water that you get from the bottled water at the grocery store.

Have a great weekend!

Rob

Target loads with a velocity of 1200 feet per second (FPS) and #7.5, #8 or #9 shot are allowed at the AGC due to the proximity of Marriottsville Road. Bring a box of clays or contribute $15 to cover the cost of the cost of buying a box from the AGC. This is a great opportunity for anyone who hasn’t shot trap before to learn the fundamentals. Others can test their skills by shooting at multiple clays.

Have a terrific summer!
