3 Gun Event Saturday Feb 4 2017

Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club will be hosting a 3 Gun event on Saturday, 4 February on the AGC 200 yd range from 0900 to 1500. We will have our usual complement of steel and target toys. This is a single stage event and you will be able to run it as much as you like. The course of fire is determined the morning of the event.

Ammo:

.223/ 5.56 only for rifle (no green tip or armor piercing)

.22, 9, 40, 45 for pistol (no magnum)

Bird shot for shotgun

Firearms:

AR and AR type variants. No AR pistols or AK’s

Semiauto pistols preferred

Shotgun of your choice as long as it operates safely and doesn’t jam more than it shoots

Gear:

Holster, mag holders, shell caddy, pistol belt, full coverage eye pro, ear pro, weather appropriate clothing, and at least two mags per gun. Work gloves are a good idea if you are handling lead infested steel.

We will be at the club shed for load out at around 0800hrs and then setup on the 200 yd range. First safety brief is at 0900 and every shooter arriving will get a brief before they participate. No one shoots without a safety brief. Shooter donation for the steel fund is $10 and be sure to bring some cash for some hot chow on the range. For those that have never been to an ARPC 3 Gun, come and check it out. Any questions, send me an email through the website to the Executive Officer link. See you there!

Arlington upcoming events

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club members,

The cold weather has not had a chilling affect on the attendance at Arlington events. It was 12 degrees, but we still had over 30 people at our January 8th pistol shoot! You are all amazing. Thanks to Mom Pat and Bob for the hot chocolate, coffee and wonderful food!

It was terrific seeing so many of our longtime Arlington members at our January Club meeting. We even had an Alex and Wade sighting!

If anyone is interested in earning range badge credits towards a free or reduced cost range badge, you can help us work on the AGC Rental house. There is a lot of different work that needs to be done. We have been getting a lot of work done thanks to the following Arlington volunteers: Jim Bourdon, Alan Manear, Pat Koehler and Jim Shaw.

Upcoming Arlington Events:

Saturday, January 21st, Fundraiser Frame Build from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.. We will be having an unscheduled Fundraiser Frame Build to benefit our Juniors Program in the new Maintenance Building. We build the frames on an assembly line basis, where each person performs one or two simple tasks. No special skills or tools are required. We have a lot of fun and everyone leaves with a good feeling of helping our Juniors. This frame build is important, because we need money to buy equipment for six new juniors.

Sunday, January 22nd, Bust Fest Trap Shoot. Will be held on Trap 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our bust fest trap shoots are very popular. The cost is $15 or you can bring a box of clay pigeons for all the birds you want to break. Winter busts fests are always a lot of fun. AGC Trap Range ammo requirements are: Target loads with #7.5, #8 or #9 shot with a velocity of no greater than 1200 Feet Per Second (FPS).

Saturday, February 4th – 3-Gun Shoot on the 200-yard rifle range from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. *Details will be provided.

*** Please note: The 2A Tuesday Rally for Annapolis has been cancelled. The local 2A organizations wish to focus on activities on the House and Senate Gun Bill Days.

I want to thank Dave, Wendy and Scott for their efforts on reviewing our Arlington Bylaws. Anyone who is interested in participating in the review and revision of our bylaws, please contact me and I will put you in touch with our bylaws committee.

Have a terrific week!

Rob
