Upcoming Arlington events for September 2016

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

A special thanks to all of our Arlington Volunteers for your help with all of the Arlington events in August. We couldn’t possibly be the active club we are without your help.

In August, Arlington volunteers supported the:

– Women on Target Program pistol class

– Reunion of WWII Veterans from the 34th Bomber Group at the AGC

– Arlington Juniors Fundraiser Frame Build

– Arlington’s Annual Lewis Libby Juniors Tournament

– Arlington’s parents and coaches for the outstanding job they are doing with the Juniors Air Rifle and Small bore Marksmanship Program

– Installed the metal roofing on the AGC pistol range pavilion

– Provided hungry club members with terrific food at all of our events

– Stepping up to help set up and take down the targets at our club shoots

Thank you very much for helping out our club!

We have an action packed schedule for September.

Sunday, September 4th, Bust Fest on Trap 1 range from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The cost is $15.00 for all the birds you want to break. This event is very popular. Club members can either learn how to shoot trap or have fun breaking several birds at a time. It is a great opportunity to try out different shotguns. The AGC restricts shotgun ammunition at the trap range to Target load only with #7.5, #8 or #9 shot with a velocity of no greater than 1200 Feet Per Second (FPS).

Wednesday, September 14th, Club Meeting in Memorial Hall from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – We will discuss upcoming events for our club and at the AGC. There will be a swap meet at the back of the room. Bring any items that you want to sell, trade or give away. There also will be a show and tell time for club members to share their latest acquisition or interesting items with club members.

Sunday, September 18th, Fundraiser frame build from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Lower Barnes Range House. This is a really fun activity and gives you a chance to help our Juniors program. The frames are built on an assembly line basis. No tools or special skills are required. Each person performs one or two simple tasks. Club members who help with the frame build can buy a frame at cost.

Saturday, September 24th, The AGC will be having its annual open house for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. There will be hunting and fishing displays and demonstrations. Clubs will have an opportunity to show off their club, so we will need volunteers to staff a table and show off all of the things we do.

Sunday, October 9th, Steel Plate Pistol Shoot from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – This is a fun shoot where club members shoot at steel plates at various distances. Standard calibers only, no magnum rounds are allowed.

Have a fantastic Labor Day weekend!

Rob
