Request for Help Bringing Campaign Signs Back to AGC on Sunday

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

The Howard County Republican Club is donating some political signs for us to use as backer boards for our fundraiser frame builds. We have to pick them up at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at their headquarters by Normandy Shopping Center. It isn’t too far from the AGC. We will need a hand and a pickup truck or two to help collect the signs and put them into the Juniors shed. We should be able to do this after Sunday’s frame build.

We appreciate your help!

Thank you,
Rob

Please join us Saturday at the 2-gun event practical tactical rifle and pistol shoot. We will start shooting rifles from barricades at 100 yards and 50 yards, then move the barricades forward to shoot pistols at 25 yards. This will be similar to the last two events we had and will be a lot of fun.

Please try to be there by 9:00 a.m. for the Safety Briefing.

Things to bring:

AR or AK type of rifle with at least two magazines. No armor piercing ammunition.

Pistol ammo: No magnum rounds. Bring at least two magazines.

Participants must have safety glasses and ear protection. We will have some available if you forget. It is recommended that you bring a folding chair.

We will have food and drinks.

Guests are welcome!

I hope to see you all there,

ARPC Youth Program Air Rifle Competition Participation

On Sunday, 2 November, the Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club Youth Program participated in a portion of the U.S. Army Junior Air Rifle Precision 60 Shot Standing competition in cooperation with the Dallastown Area High School MCJROTC and the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. The shoot was a sectional match of the US Army Junior Air Rifle Championship (USAJARC). Seven shooters representing two clubs participated in this phase of the match, which takes place over four months at ranges all over the country. At the completion of the match in January, 2015, participating shooters are ranked nationally among all participants.

On Sunday, 14 December, the Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club Youth Program will host the first annual Friendship Air Rifle match between the Monumental Rifle and Pistol Club Juniors Program and the Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club Youth Program. Six shooters from each club will compete in a course of fire consisting of 60 shots with the air rifle from a shooting position of their choice, prone, standing, or kneeling. There will be two relays, 11:00 AM & 2:00 PM, and lunch will be served between the relays. Parents, club members, and other supporters of the shooters are encouraged to come and watch the match.

Thank You,
Brian S.

Please Support the AGC Memorial Hall Building Fund.

Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club members,

If you haven’t bought a raffle ticket or sold any yet, please see Dave Boone at Sunday’s bust fest or at our club meeting next Wednesday. Dave will have tickets for you to buy or sell. The AGC is now allowing you to use your charge card to buy tickets at the Barnes Range House when they are selling range badges.

The AGC really needs your help, so please buy a ticket and sell some to your friends. The prizes are amazing and the drawing will be on November 22nd.

The cost of the ticket is $20.00, but the prizes are over the top.

Thank you,
Rob

October Recap & Events for the Remainder of 2014

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

Wow, we have been busy over the past month!

October, we had three club shoots:

Our steel plate pistol shoot topped off with a stake shoot and toy and stuffed animal shoot on the 12th.

The 2 Gun shoot with Greenbelt on October 25th was a huge success. We had a lot of fun knocking down steel plates with rifles and pistols. Greenbelt comes up with different things to do each time. They are a nice bunch of guys.

On October 25th, The Action Pistol Proof of Concept pistol shoot run by our club member Paul, was fantastic. He ran the shoot like it was a training program. He did a soup to nuts program starting with safety and migrating to shooting and moving safely while engaging steel targets. We had people of all abilities in the group and everyone had a great time and improved their shooting skills.

On November 1st, we had another Proof of Concept pistol shoot and like the previous week, it was also a huge success.

November 2nd, we had our charity wobble trap shoot, benefiting the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Martin’s home for the elderly. We donated 4 cardboard boxes of food and $100.

We want to give a special thanks to Pat (Mom Pat) who has been handling the food concession for us at our club shoots. Pat and Bob always have their gourmet chili, brat wurst, hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie trays, fruit, cookies and cupcakes. We are all enjoying the shoots a lot more thanks to the wonderful food she prepares for us.
