Events for the Weekend of November 1st and 2nd

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

We have the following events this coming weekend:

Action Pistol Shoot on Saturday, November 1st from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the 200 yard range near the impact berm of the 200 yard range. We will be shooting pistols at steel plates, moving and shooting between multiple stations. Paul led us through a proof of concept shoot this past Saturday. Paul is a former Army instructor and did an outstanding job ensuring safety and put us all through the paces. We all picked up some great tips and had a lot of fun shooting moving and shooting! We will be running through this course Saturday morning. Please get there no later than 9:00 a.m. to get the safety briefing. We could use some help setting up, so if you can get there around 8:00 a.m., we would greatly appreciate your help.

* Please bring a holster and mag holders for your pistol if you have one. Don’t worry if you don’t, I have some you can borrow. You will have a blast!

**NOTE: We will not be having a Wobble Trap on Saturday, because of this event, but will be having one on Sunday!!!

Sunday, Charity Wobble Trap shoot from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Trap 4. The AGC charges clubs $3 per round of wobble trap. This is our fall Charity event, so we will be collecting $6 per round of Wobble Trap and donating $3 per round to the Little Sisters of the Poor this year. The Sisters take in the elderly poor and take wonderful care of them. The Little Sisters of the Poor rely on donations to care for their residents. We are heading into the Thanksgiving season, so please come out and help give back to our community. If you can, please bring out some canned foods to help the Little Sisters feed the residents. It is really nice when we can bring them a check along with some food to help out the elderly residents.

Last weekend, Dave from Greenbelt did a great job designing and setting up the 2 gun event and Arlington’s Mom Pat and Lizzy headed up the food concession. We had a ball knocking down steel plates with rifles and pistols and were all treated to homemade Bison Chili, hamburgers, brat worst, veggie and fruit trays, cupcakes and cookies. We had a great time shooting with the Greenbelt and Old Post clubs. We can’t do these events without our volunteers, so a big thanks goes to everyone for coming out and helping us set up, take down and run the event.

Also a big thanks to Paul for running an outstanding action pistol shoot on Sunday. Once again, Greenbelt, Old Post and Arlington volunteers made everything possible by getting the stations set up and putting everything away. Thank you to all of the volunteers who made it possible.

I hope you can all make it out to the Action Pistol Shoot and the Charity Bust Fest this weekend.

Thank you,

Frame Build This Saturday

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

We are having a fundraiser target frame build on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Please come out and give us a hand. No experience is necessary. We have all the tools that are needed and build frames on an assembly line basis where each person performs one or two simple tasks. We have a lot of fun.

Thank you,

Notes From the ARPC Treasurer

2015 Membership Campaign

I’ll be opening the 2015 Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club’s Membership drive for the next fiscal
year (April 2015 through March 2016) on 1 November. The early collection of dues allows us to fix the
club’s budget during the transition of officers following the December’s election. If all of you continue your
membership into 2015, we will meet our minimum budget goal for 2015-2016 to keep pace with our zest
for fun shooting events.

Preferred, please use the mail-in convenience. Enclose your check payable to the Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club along with a completed Membership & Dues Payment Form 2015 found on the club’s web site under “downloads”. Mail the envelope to the club’s PO Box. If you elect not to complete the Membership & Dues Payment Form 2015 there may be delays. I’ll return mail your membership card.

The 2014 Club Picnic

The Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club’s annual picnic took place on 7 September in conjunction
with the always popular Bust Fest. We had a good turnout and there was variety of food and drink
for all to enjoy. I’d like to thank all who participated and extra measure of thanks for
the members who brought “eats” to share. We could have fed an army. There were few leftovers, so I guess we did. A standing ovation please for Mom Pat (Pat Bryan). She took the bison by the horns and organized the day for us. Thank you Mom Pat.

Pat Koehler,
