Arlington Rifle & Pistol Club Events for May 2014

Saturday, May 10 – Juniors Fundraiser Frame build – from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 – in the lower Barnes range house. No experience or tools are necessary. We work on an assembly line basis where each person performs one or two simple tasks. It is a lot of fun and you leave with a good feeling having helped to support our Juniors team.

We will have four shooting events in May

Saturday, May 10 – 100 yard Rifle Shoot Steel plates and paper – from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Greenbelt Rifle and Pistol Club has invited Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club to shoot with them on the Barnes Multipurpose Range. Greenbelt has cohosted several shoots with Arlington. They are a nice bunch of folks and fun to shoot with. Come on out and have some fun.

Saturday, May 17th – Bust Fest on Trap 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – We will have 3 mechanical throwers and two battery powered remote throwers for our shooters. For $10, you get to shoot trap Arlington style all day. Please remember that the shotgun ammo must be target loads only with # 7.5, #8, and #9 shot only and has a velocity limited to 1200 Feet Per Second (FPS)

Sunday, May 25th – Steel Plate Rifle Shoot at the 100 yard range from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – We will be shooting steel targets. Please no armor piercing rounds or ammunition with a velocity greater than 3400 Feet Per Second (FPS). Please come out at 8:00 a.m. to help set the steel targets.

One Response to Arlington Rifle & Pistol Club Events for May 2014

  1. Jack E. Smith says:

A suggestion! How about all the clubs kicking in for the cost of a ‘call in’ conference line so members who cannot attend all the meetings can at least have the option of attending by calling an 800 number from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on meeting nights? At least that way we can both listen to the meeting, comment, and participate instead of being absent. This option can also go a long way in attracting new members who cannot attend for whatever reason including distance and travel difficulties. Your thoughts?
