Bust Fest Saturday, July 27, 9:00am – 2:00pm

Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

We will be having an unscheduled Bust Fest Trap shoot this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the trap range.

We were scheduled to help the Boy Scouts with their Shotgun Merit Badge, but the troop had a conflict and had to cancel. We have reserved the AGC trap 1 for the Boy Scout shoot, so lets not let it go to waste. Lets get out there and have an Arlington Style Bust Fest!

The cost is $10 per shooter to cover the cost of the birds we break. You can shoot as much as you want.

If you don’t have a shotgun, come on out anyway, You can bring some 12 gauge Target load shotgun ammo and most people will let you shoot their shotguns. It’s a great way to find out what kind of shotgun works for you.

Target ammo only. You should be able to find it at Walmart, Dicks, Bass Pro, local gun stores or you can purchase it from the AGC. If you are buying commercial target ammo, look for the shot size of 7 1/2, 8, or 9 shot and a velocity of less than 1200 feet per second

Come on out and have a great weekend with your friends.

Have a great week!

Reminder, Club Meeting and Pistol Shoot

Reminder, tomorrow our club meeting will be in Memorial Hall from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. We will be having a show and tell for members to bring unusual firearm related items to share with members. We will have a swap meet if you want to sell a firearm related item and a question and answer period where you will be able to ask for advice on firearms, shooting and ammo.

We will be having a club pistol shoot this coming Sunday July 14th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. You will be able to shoot any caliber pistols and pistol caliber carbines at steel targets, plastic farm animals, softballs and toys. We will have some cardboard sillouettes to shoot at and stands for your paper targets.

We will have some hotdogs and refreshments at the shoot.

Come on out and have some fun.

If anyone is available on Friday, we will spend a few hours refurbishing some of our steel targets and frames. We can do some shooting afterwards.

See you soon.

Thanks,
Rob

Arlington Rifle & Pistol Club July Newsletter

Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club
July 2013 Newsletter

We have four club events scheduled for July.

July 6, 2013 Juniors Frame Build: Thank you to everyone who came out to our frame build on Saturday, July 6th. We built 50 frames in about 2 hours. We need everyone’s help. We are running out of our plastic backer board. We will most likely not have enough to complete our order for our next frame build. We need all of our club member’s help. Cutting cardboard at our builds would take way to much time. To save time, we are asking members to please start collecting cardboard and cutting it into 17 inch x 30 inch pieces and bring it to our club events. If everyone can do this, we will be able to continue to complete our frame builds in a couple of hours. Thank you for all of your support you have been giving to our Juniors team.

July 10, 2013 – Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club Meeting will be held at Memorial Hall from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

July 14, 2013 – Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club will be having a Pistol and Pistol caliber Steel Plate Shoot from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We will be shooting steel plates, plastic toys, softballs, paper targets and silhouettes.

July 27, 2013 – Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club will be supporting the Boy Scouts who are working towards their Shotgun Merit Badge at Trap 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please come out and help the Boy Scouts earn their Shotgun Merit badge by shooting trap. The Scouts will be brining their own ammo, but it would be a great help if anyone could bring a shotgun for them to shoot.

I hope to see you at our club events!

Thank you,

Rob
