Frame Build Saturday, April 14th – We Need You!

Saturday, April 14th – Many hands make light work. The frame build benefits our Juniors team and will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the lower Barnes Range House. No skills or tools are necessary. Builders work on an assembly line performing a specific task. You are guaranteed to have a great time and to leave with a good feeling that you have supported our Juniors Team. Attendance at this event counts toward the three events prospective members need for membership.

ARPC Juniors Rock the Maryland State 3 Position Air Rifle Tournament

Coach Chuck and the Arlington Juniors competitors

On March 17th, the ARPC Juniors descended on Linganore High School for the Maryland State 3P Air Rifle Championships. Liz B., Torrance K., Wynn L., and Claire O. represented our club. Because of their ages (all 13 and under) they all were placed in the Subjunior Category for the tournament and all four shot in Sporter class. Each shooter had 20 shots at their targets in each position, Prone, Standing and Kneeling. To say that our Juniors showed what they could do is an understatement – below are the results from the tournament:

There were 47 Sporter class shooters and 11 of the 47 were Subjuniors.

For Subjuniors the rankings were as follows:

Liz: 1st Place
Torrance: 2nd Place
Wynn: 3rd Place
Claire: 10th Place (this was her first 3P tournament)

YES….Our club swept the Subjunior Division

Overall Aggregate Placement
Liz: 4th place out of 47
Torrance: 5th place out of 47
Wynn: 11th place out of 47
Claire: 40th place out of 47

The top four shooters are chosen to be on the State Team that represents Maryland in the NRA Nationals being held at the end of June in Anniston, Alabama. Liz has been chosen and will be representing ARPC on the Maryland State Team. She becomes the first ARPC Junior shooter to make the Maryland State Team.
